Kathryn (aka Kathy) Grisso Buchanan

April 19, 1950- May 9, 2013

BUCHANAN, Kathryn Grisso, 63, of Midlothian, passed away May 9, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip W. Buchanan. She is survived by her two daughters, Maggie B. Rice and husband, Jeremy and Tina A. Buchanan; granddaughter, Sydney Claire Rice; her sister, Debra Lowe; and brother, Benjamin Grisso. She graduated from Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind and was a member of the Richmond Club of the Deaf. A funeral ceremony will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Bliley's - Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd. Interment will be private.

My dear friend,

close your eyes...

hold my hand,

and hear me whisper...

For the times I was lost,

you were there to look for me.

Will you believe me when I say I love you more than you'll ever know.

Will you trust me when I say ...this time you have to let me go.

My dear friend, I must leave.

The world no longer needs me.

It's my time to be gone, until we meet again someday.

Don't you cry now, I know I'll be okay.

Trust that I'll never forget you.

Don't be sad now, just close your eyes until it's through.

Hold my hand, don't open your eyes yet...

wait when I no longer whisper..

My dear friend, you'll be fine.

God calls on my name... and I have to let go of your hand now...

Obituary

1939-2013

JUSTICE, Richard Allen, 74, of Henrico, Va., went to be with the Lord on
Wednesday, March 8, 2013. He is at peace rejoicing with the Lord. He was
preceded in death by his parents, Marlyn Crawford Justice and Ben Loree
Rodgers Justice; and three brothers, Jerry, Mark and Julian. He is
survived by his wife, Helen Brewer Justice; daughters, Terri Justice
Mulvin (Tom) and Sara Justice Durrett (Jeff); grandchildren, Rachel and
Andrew Mulvin and Kayley and Zachary Durrett; and a host of nephews and
a niece and their children. Allen graduated from Virginia School for the
Deaf and the Blind located in Staunton, Va. He was very active with
organizations for the deaf including VA Baptist Conference of the Deaf.
He was active at Oakwood Baptist Church before helping to establish Deaf
Mission at First Baptist Church located in Richmond, Va., and then
serving as pastor for the deaf at Deaf Baptist Chapel located in
Norfolk, Va. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in
the chapel on May 18, 2013 at 2pm in 2709 Monument Ave.,
Richmond, Va.

RIP: Ola Little of Hopewell, VA

Ola Little of Hopewell, Virginia

 

Ola G. Little

August 30, 1933- March 12, 2013

 

 

Ola Gay Little of Hopewell passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Oleta Palmer; husband, Wilfred Little Sr.; and a daughter, Delores Little. Ola was a member of Broadway Baptist Church in Hopewell for over 20 years. She loved doing needlepoint and many of her projects are hanging on the wall in her home.

She is survived by her son, Wilfred Little Jr. and wife Vicky, daughter, Sandra Taylor, all of Hopewell; son, David Little of Bridgeport Conn.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, JoAnn Harris and husband Stan, of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private.

Martha Soper

Martha Soper passed away on January 8, 2013

She was graduated with the class of 1964 at Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind in Staunton, Virginia. 

She lived with Shirley Lacks Zimmerman and her husband for a long time in Maryland and then in Florida. She was became an adoptive sister by Shirley Zimmerman many year ago. 

She will be buried in Virginia with her mother. Her obituary was not available.

He departed this life January 14, 2013. He is survived by his loving devoted mother, Rose Wise (Sissiboo); brother Michael K. Wise (Audrey); two sisters, Donnette Henderson (Joe) and Shaquanda Walker; one uncle, Linwood Wise Jr, ; Nephews, Terrell, Demario and dominique; Niece, Marhanda Thomas; a host of other relatives, cousins, and friends. Remain rest at Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Faiarmount Ave', where view will be saturday 10 AM., followed by Funeral services at  1 PM, with Rev Bobby E. Holmes Officating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.

He attended to Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind though 1979 to 1983 and never graduated.

He was lived since in Richmond, Virginia and non-social in the Deaf Community. 

He has problem heart and died of natural causes, in his nap sleep.

Tina Marie Johnson Woods

Daniel Woods and his (left) wife, Tina M.J. Woods Tina M.J.Woods, 42. Tina Marie Johnson Woods, 42, of Roanoke and Lynchburg, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at her home. Tina Marie is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, Daniel Curtis Woods; her sons, Nathaniel Woods, Samuel Woods and Jonathan Woods; her father, Les Johnson and wife, Libby; her stepfather, Frederick Wells Sr.; her sisters, Bethany Miller and Stacey Torrence; her brother, Steven Wells Jr. A funeral service will be held at Oakey’s South Chapel, 2 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2012, with Pastor Aaron Reed officiating. Interment in the Guthrie Family Cemetery, Franklin County. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2012, at Oakey’s South Chapel.  I am very sorry for getting information about Tina Woods for the update but you can comment to comfort for Daniel here or his facebook message better than post on his facebook in public. It would be more less and thoughts of the loss with his lost love. Tina's age was very young and enough time, and enough years. But in shortly we are shocked about her gone.  Tina was very happy that she became a christian. She loved to go the Church with her friends. Helen McLelland

Helen Margaret (Inge) McLelland, 96, widow of Paul E. McLelland, of 3935 Sunnnyside Drive, died Friday, November 9, 2012 in her residence.

She was born October 7, 1916, in Bedford County, a daughter of the late A. W. “Pat” and Nora (Millner) Inge.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. McLelland was a pre-school teacher at VSDB. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Family includes a daughter and son-in-law, Frances M. And Robert E. Gleason of Grandville, MA; a granddaughter, Mary Helen Nutty Smith and her husband, Steven; and two great grandchildren, Austin and Savanna Smith.

In addition to her husband, Paul McLelland, she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Per her request, there will be no formal services.

Memorials may be made to the Sunnyside Presbyterian Retirement Community Benevolent Fund, 3935 Sunnyside Drive, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
